An anticyclone lying across the South Island continues to move slowly north-east; a cold front south-west of New Zealand is moving east-northeast and should bring a southerly change to the south and east of the South Island later in the dav.
Forecasts:
CANTERBURY. — Moderate coastal nortiieasterlies; a few cloudy areas at first but mainly fine; however, a change to moderate cool south-east winds and a cloudy period is expected this evening. MARLBOROUGH. — Winds becoming light. fine; mild afternoon temperatures. NELSON, BULLER, WESTLAND. — Light winds apart from daytime sea breezes; fine; mild afternoon temperature'. OUTLOOK. - Fair.
