Approval for venue
(N.Z.P. A.-Rent er—Copyright) LONDON. The International Lawn Tennis Federation has accepted a Chilean proposal to play the Davis Cup South American zone final against South Africa in Colombia. The federation secretary (Mr B. Reay) said that the proposal was put at a meeting of the federation's Davis Cup nations committee, suggesting the match be played in Bogota on March 7-9.
“The committee accepts that, and I am going to send cables to both countries telling them to play on that date,” Mr Reay said. The Colombian Government is understood to be considering Chile’s request to play South Africa in Bogota, but it has already said it will not allow its own team to play South Africa in the American zone final. Colombia has already won the North American zone.
