Spanner in the works
NELSON. January 25 A Stoke garage owner had problems as a result of the Increase in the price of petrol. He has a coin-opera-ted pump, to which adjustments of a few cents can be made with relatively little difficulty. Adaptation to a bigger price increase required a little more effort, and while the garage owner was correcting his pump, he dropped a spanner in the works — literally. This put his pump out of commission. and he had a decrease in petrol sales.
