Shipbuilding orders
In the first nine months of 1973 Britain’s shipbuilding industry gained orders for 213 merchant ships of 3.52 m gross tons. At the end of September, 1973, the industry’s total order book, excluding naval work, was worth £llB6m, almost double the corresponding 1972 figure.
