Preventing corrosion
A corrosion prevention advisory centre is being established in Britain to reduce the country’s annual corrosion bill of £1365m. It will provide technical advice on preventing corrosion of all materials. It is sponsored by the Fulmer Research Institute, one of Britain's leading research and consultancy organisations in materials, science and technology, and will be financed by the makers of corrosion-resistant materials and rust inhibitors. It will charge fees for consultancy assignments. A report on corrosion and protection by Britain’s Department. of "Trade and In-, dustry two years ago considered that the rust bill could be cut by £3oom by better use of existing knowledge and techniques.
