Obituary
One of Europe’s most famous ballerinas, the Ger-man-born Clothilde Sakharoff, has died in Rome at the age of 80. She rose to fame in 1910 with her late husband, Alexander Sakharoff, with whom she danced in theatres throughout Europe, Japan, and North and South America. The couple became famous for their style of free movement and expression, opposed to the traditions of classical ballet.—-Rome, January 15.
