A.N.Z.U.S. meeting

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 15. The United States Deputy Secretary of State (Mr K. Rush) would attend the twenty-third meeting of the A.N.Z.U.S. Council in Wellington on February 26 and 27, the Prime Minister (Mr Kirk) said today. Australia will be represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Senator D. Willesee), and Mr Kirk will represent New Zealand. Mr Kirk said the council meeting would provide a valuable opportunity for a frank exchange of views about "our part of the world, the effects of Great Power detente, the Nixon doctrine, and progress in our policies in the region.”
