Goods in river

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, January 15. Household goods, possibly worth hundreds of dollars, have been found dumped in the Tongariro River near Turangi.

The police and a Ministry of Works diver will try to recover some of the goods. The police said the property was thought to have been taken from unoccupied houses burgled in Turangi last month. Goods worth $3OOO were reported stolen, and several juveniles were arrested.

Some of the property has been recovered, but it is thought that up to $7OO worth of goods might be in the river.
