An Auckland doctor, commenting on the arguments with patients which are likely to arise under the Accident Compensation Act. brings a little levity to a heavy subject. He cites the example of the patient who has contracted venereal disease and demands free treatment. Told that he cannot expect a refund of expenses, since he was not involved in an accident, he is likely to reply: “Doctor, are you trying to tell me I got it on purpose?”
