Upset win in softball

WANGANUI. Horowhenua, with a 13-3 upset win over Canterbury, looks to be the find of the national i schoolgirls’ softball tournament, ; which began in Wanganui yesterday. Horowhenua, playing in the B section, ended the day with two ; wins and no losses after it beat Marlborough, 28-0. Bay of Plenty and Counties; were also unbeaten after two; games in the B section Nelson had one win from onei game.
In the A section, Auckland and Wellington have gone to the fore. They both have three wins and no losses. Their nearest rivals, Manawatu and Waikato, both lost— Manawatu to Wellington, and Waikato to Auckland. The tournament will continue today.
