Reuter —Copyright' I VIENTIANE, January 6 The Laotian Prime Minister (Prince Souvanna Phouma) says that a new coalition Government will be ' formed by February at the /latest, and that foreign , troops will be withdrawn . within 60 days of its forma- ■ tiort. The usually well-informed /newspaper, "Xat Lao”, re’ported yesterday that Prince) ■ Souvanna made the state-) * ment at a meeting with representatives of the Committee for the Co-ordination of Peace and Resettlement' ;and Realisation of National (Concord on Friday. The committee is made up) of nine political groups, including the neutralist party headed by Prince Souvanna (himself. Prince Souvanna is also (reported to have said that North Vietnamese forces were expected to he withdrawn completely before the next rainy season. The Prime Minister emphasised the need for Laos, to follow a policy of neu-!; ity. because, he said, “it is such a small country.”
Referring to the Communist Pathet Lao, Prince Sou-, vanna said that they had no' intention of dividing Laos because they had not established their own permanent! Government in Sam Neua.; and were “nationalists who still respect th? Monarchy.”
