; HASTINGS, January 6. I An English visitor to New | Zealand last week lost Icheques and goods worth iabout $l5OO when a thief [entered the house she was [staying in at Hastings. Mrs Myra Walwyn, who had been in New Zealand only one week, left a handbag in her bedroom. While the family was watching television between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., the handbag was stolen from Mrs Walwyn’s room. The bag contained cheques and cash to the value of $1136, and jewellery.
