Award.— The world champion swimmer, S. Holland, was named the Australian Broadcasting : Commission’s sportsman of the year for 1973. Holland, aged 15 set world records for the 8W metres and 1500 metres freestyle twice within five weeks last year.
Ski-ing.—The Austrian, Miss A M. Proell-Moser. clocking a perilous 77 miles an hour, wor the World Cup down-hill event on Saturday.
