Magic Touch is Gold Cup pick
"The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL. Magic Touch, which has a Wellington Cup start in line for her. should give a lead to her Trentham chances when she contests the $3BOO Invercargill Gold Cup, over 2600 m, at the Southland Racing Club's meeting tomorrow. The Invercargill Cup, which will be the first leg of the T.A.B. double, has drawn one of the strongest fields in recent years. Magic Touch is the likely favourite, but other strong fancies are Redlo. Mellay Vite, and Grey Pride.
The second leg of the double will be the City Handicap, in which Bonnie Alouise, Red Flight and Funny Way will be strong form runners. The feature event on the card will be the Southland Guineas, in which Pakistan Flight, Dandyman and Grey Way are likely to dispute favouritism.
