Best snatch by Duffy
I The Canterbury weight-lifter, B. Duffy, who will compete in I the feather-weight division at the Commonwealth Games, achieved a personal best in the snatch during a training exercise at the Y.M.C.A. last even ing.
After successfully snatching 100 kilograms for the first time. Duffy then hoisted 102; kilo grams—a lift which would rank him second in the Commonwealth on present ratings Duffy was also at his peak in the clean and jerk. He was sue cessful with successive lifts of 115, 125 and 130 kilograms, the final lift equalling his previous best for that event.
