House sold for $25,000
A large house converted into two flats sold at auction yesterday for $25,000, more than four times the Government valuation. The property, of 50 perches, at 122 Colombo Street, has a Government valuation (1969) of $6OOO. The auctioneer was Mr C. M. Robertson, of Sherris and Wilson, Ltd. A two-storey French-style residence, converted to two self-contained flats, at 113 Rue Jolie, Akaroa, was sold for $12,000. The auctioneer was Mr D. R. Smith, of Smith’s City Market, Ltd.
A section of 51.4 perches at Rue Balguerie, Akaroa, was sold for $12,000. The auctioneer was Mr Smith.
A three-bedroomed bungalow at 17 Springbank Street, Bryndwr, was passed in at $26,500. The house, which stands on a 25.6-perch section, has a Government valuation (1971) of $12,000. The auctioneer was Mr E. G. Keenan, of Binns, Barber, and Keenan, Ltd. Two self-contained flats, on a section of 40 perches at 490 Worcester Street, were sold for $22,200. The two flats have a Government valuation (1969) of $7BOO. The auctioneer was Mr Robertson.
