CRICKET TOURS

Cricket traffic between New Zealand and Australia is not likely to be confined to test teams in the next season or two. The New Zealand Cricket Council’s board of control this week received three tour requests from minor organisations. Mr T. E. Harry, of South Australia, wants to bring a team in April next year. He conducted a similar tour two years ago. The South Canterbury association has asked to tour Victoria and New South Wales in October next year, and the New Zealand Universities Council plans a tour in January next year. The applications are being considered. Golf.—P. Oosterhuis has withdrawn from the England team to plav in the World Cup golf in Spain later this month because of the Illness of his wife. His place will be taken by P. Wilcock.
