HERITAGE SERVICE

Seventy-six families with 131 children were under the care of Heritage in Canterbury, said the retiring chairman (Mr C. F. S. Caldwell) in his annual report. Although the numbers were dwindling each year the organisation would be looking after the welfare of the children of disabled exservicemen “for a considerable time.” The new president elected last evening, Dr D. C. Gunby, is a former recipient of Heritage finances. Other officers elected were: Vicepresidents, the Mayor (Mr N. G. Pickering), Messrs B. McMaster and A. Forbes; executive, Mrs E. M. Brown, Messrs Caldwell, C. L. Bacon, M. P. Whatman, T. M. R. Maskew, K. G. Newman.
