Wheat for Ethiopia

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CANBERRA, Nov. 11. Australia would give “a substantial quantity” of wheat to assist in relieving the drought in Ethiopia and other countries in northern Africa, the Minister for Foreign Affairs (Senator Donald Willesee) said today. Senator Willesee said the details of Australia’s contribution would be arranged as quickly as possible. Although no official request for assistance had been made to Australia, the Australian Ambassador to Ethiopia (Mr K. H. Roberts) had reported that an offer of wheat would be greatly appreciated, he said.
