Property sales
Connemara, a 928-acre grazing and cropping farm near Parnassus was sold vesterday at auction for $381,08C. The land fetched $304,000, or $327.58 an acre. The buyer took over the stock and machinery at valuation ($77,080), About 100 people attended the sale. There is a Government valuation (1968) of $114,800 on the property which was offered on behalf of the trustees of the estate of the late G. L. Rutherford. Mr W. R. Flanagan, for Wrightson NMA, Ltd, was the auctioneer. Almost an acre of land with a large, four-bedroomed house at 39 Hamilton Avenue, Fendalton, fetched $78,000 at auction. The 3-rood, 26 perch property, which has a stream boundary, has a 1970 Government valuation of $22,000. Mr R. D. Brown, of Livingstone’s, Ltd, was the auctioneer, A two-bedroom house on 24 perches, and two sections one of 32.8 perches and the other of 35.9 perches all at 296 Wairakei Road were sold. The house and section fetched $lB,OOO and the sections $lO,OOO each. Four self-contained flats on 45 perches of land at 377 Cambridge Terrace sold for $26,500 at auction. The 1969 Government valuation is $11,200. Mr C. R. Blackett, for Warwick Todd, Ltd, was the auctioneer.
A 50-year-old, five-bed-roomed home on 25.7 perches at 86 Dyers Pass Road was passed in at $42,000. The property has a 1970 Government valuation of $11,300.
