The Govtaiment has ,’announced several measures (aimed at streamlining the . education system in teachers’ s .colleges. p The Minister of Education (Mr Amos) said today that (jthe Cabinet had approved ([additional hours for laborar Story and technical assistants, new facilities and equipment v related to the introduction of •(educational television, and t'other facilities such as animal rooms, dark rooms/ audio-visual equipment, and .curriculum resource centres. ' The increased hours for 'laboratory and technical 1 assistants varied between -.72J hours a week, and 100 ’ hours a week, and would take J effect from February next ' year, Mr Amos said. At pre\sent, part-time laboratory assistants were employed in science, art. and social studies departments for 60 hours a week in primary col--jleges, and 80 hours a week in ‘secondary colleges or. ! divisions.
