(X.Z. Press Association} WELLINGTON. October 30. Meat exports earned a record 5613.6 m in the year ended September 30, 1973. the Meat Board said today. This is an increase of $158.7m. or 34.9 per cent, on the 19/1-72 season’s record receipts. Together, meat and meat by-products returned $742.8 million, or 40.7 per cent of New Zealand's total export receipts of $ 1823.2 m. said the board. The board said. that the dramatic rise in New Zealand’s meat" export earnings was attributable largely to an increasing world demand for meat and to lower domestic production in some major markets caused by' a shortage of grains and other animal feedstuffs.
