$8000 theft from dairy
Thieves stole between $BOOO and $lO,OOO from the Hillmorton Dairy, 33 Halswell Road, during the week-end. About $3OOO was in cheques, and the rest was in cash.
The money comprised about three weeks of the shop’s takings. It was stored in a cardboard box, which was discovered by the proprietor, Mr G. N. Langham, in the grounds of the Spreydon School on Sunday. A radio and hub caps valued at $215 were stolen from a car parked at Blackwell Motors. Ltd. Manchester Street. A side window of the car was forced open Burglars also entered an office at 22 Watts Road, Riccarton, owned by Bird’s Eye! Foods, Ltd, and damaged $2O worth of cheese. i
