Entertainment "upsurge"
“A dramatic upsurge in international entertainment” is forecast for Christchurch in October by the Town Hall manager (Mr B. P. Connell).
“It may be just the fact that the Sydney Opera House is opening, but I hope that it will continue and will not concentrate on one period,” Mr Connell said. A number of international artists were booked to appear at the Town Hall in October, Mr Connell said. However, he < was not authorised to, announce their names.
However, some bookings I confirmed by Mr Connell are! David Frost (September 8),! and in October Rolf Harris,! the Moscow Chamber Music. Orchestra, and the Cleveland! .Symphony Orchestra.
