( sir,— People who would; (make out that the Commonwealth Games complex will not be a white elephant quote Edinburgh, where the facilities are being put to full use. They disregard the fact that Edinburgh is adjacent to countries with dense populations while New Zealand is miles from anywhere. In Perth where large populations are not too far distant, the Games facilities are a dead loss, in Christchurch they will become a drain on! (the ratepayer to keep them) (in running order. The tragedy l ■of all this is the obstinacy; (of our local politicians.
