Ambassador to Indonesia
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Mr R. L. Jermyn, at present Minister at the New Zealand Embassy in Washington, has been appointed New Zealand Ambassador to Indonesia, replacing Mr B. F. Bolt, who returned to New i Zealand recently. [ Mr Jermyn, aged 44, is ’married, with two sons. He joined the Department of External Affairs in 1950 and has served in Singapore, London and Washington. Fie has ’held senior positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs land from 1964-66 he was seconded to the Ministry of | Defence. The Prime Minister (Mr Kirk) said that the Gov- | eminent attached great importance to New Zealand’s I friendly association with Indonesia — this country’s [nearest and largest SouthEast Asian neighbour.
