[ Fees at all Australian universities and other institutes | of tertiary education would be abolished from January 1, 1974. the Education Minister (Mr Beazley) announced yesterday. From this date the Federal: Government will take over; full responsibility for finan-i ring tertiary education ini Australia. The abolition of fees will: apply to universities, col-1 leges of advanced education , technical colleges, and ap-: proved colleges, training; schools and pre-school teach-1 ers’ colleges.
