Concern for safer baths
The Minister of Housing (Mr Fraser) is anxious to introduce safer bathing facilities into homes, particularly those provided for the eldierly.
! He commented on the subject yesterday during an inspection of the all-timber “Timbo” home in Christchurch yesterday.
One of the features that caught his eye was a lowI level bath about three feet 'square with a seat in it and a shower. He thought it would be ideal for elderly people, who often were in difficulties getting in and out of deeper baths. The Minister said that the low baths would be safer for children too.
