Welfare law revision
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 18. The Government was determined to do all it could to have the complete revision of child welfare law ready for introduction to Parliament this year, the Minister of Social Welfare (Mr King) said in an address to the New Zealand Association of Social Workers at Levin.
Mr King said the association and other interested bodies would be given the chance to make submissions on the bill, which he would bring down.
“We want it to be an enlightened, progressive piece of legislation suited to the times in which we live and to situations in the foreseeable future,” he said.
