Boy of 14 killed
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Feb. 18. A 14-year-old Cobden boy was killed in a motor accident at Kokiri, 18 miles east of Greymouth, at 8 p.m. on Saturday. He was
Wayne Anthony Aben, a son of Mr and Mrs Ludwig Aben, of 13 Nelson Quay Cobden.
He and his brother, Russell Aben, were passengers in a car driven by Alan (Griffin, of Hall Street, Cobden.
The car which swerved to dodge sheep finished upside down on the railway line at Kokiri; Wayne Aben was thrown out of the vehicle and suffered a suspected broken neck. The driver was wearing a seat belt but the passengers were not.
