Because of the calls of the Rothmans tournament, the North Canterbury cricket team will be without its representative all-rounder, R. J. Sowden, on Sunday. The team chosen to play Ashburton, at Ashburton, in the second round of the A.N.Z. Bank knock-out competition is:— S. J. Blakely (captain), C. Beecroft, C. DampierCrossley, C. Heslop. A. Jenkins, R. C. Merrin, W. H. Newton, J. J. Ryan, S. J. Ryan, T. A. Turner, P. R. Williams.
