<N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) ■ MELBOURNE, Jan. 16. At the age of 55, Vera Lynn, still known to thousands throughout the British Commonwealth as the sweetheart of the British World War II forces, said yesterday that she would like to replace that image with something a I little more modern. ' She arrived in Melbourne yesterday for a concert at
the city’s Festival Hall, She said that after 30 years she felt her image could do with a change. Although she never got sick of singing the old favourites, such as ‘‘White Cliffs of Dover,” and ‘‘Land of Hope and Glory,” she wished she could do more new songs without causing an uproar. Miss Lynn said she also planned a working holiday on a cruise ship between New (Zealand and Tahiti.
