Shield and Casket
Canterbury tennis teams to compete in zone matches for the Wilding Shield and Nunneley Casket next week-end were announced yesterday by the selectors (Mrs P. Leopold. Messrs C. Hunt and T. Ralfe) as follows:— Wilding Shield. —S. Men-
zies (Edgeware), W. Edgeicumbe (Elmwood), B. J. Ald- * ridge (Linwod Avenue-Wool- ; ston), T. Mooney (Edgeware). . Nunneley Casket.—Mrs D. JMcKinneJ (Avonside), Mrs J. Langford (Edgeware), Miss A. Meates (Beckenham), Mrs K. Graham (Avonside). A. James, of Linwood Ave-nue-Woolston, was not available for the men’s team because. as a member of the national development squad, he is obliged to compete in the Auckland junior championships which are also be:ing held next week-end. The Wilding Shield matches will be played in Timaru. and the Casket matches I will be held m Christchurch.
