Candidates munt hold a degree in Medicine of an approved University, have been qualified for at least two years and have held a hospital appointment for at least one year. They must be licensed to practise in New Zealand. Solary will be in accordance with Hospital Employment (Medical Regulations within the scale of $6830 p.a. to $3221 p.a. Salary. $15368 (Australian) p.a. 3398 THE UNIVERSITY OF PAPUA AND NEW GUINEA (PORT MORESBY) ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (December 15, 1972) APPLICATIONS are invited from qualified Accountants for appointment to the above position The Accounts Branch of the University currently controls an annual budget of SAS million under the general supervision of the University Accountant and Assistant Accountant. The new position, for a second Assistant Accountant, will allow a subdivision of duties and responsibilities, including the training of Papua New Guineans. The Branch is currently mechanised on two National 33 accounting machines, and has separate sections for revenue, expenditure, payroll, budgets, trusts, internal audit and accounting machines. The successful applicant should have a wide experience in manual and mechanised accounting processes, and be capable of producing annual financial statements. SENIOR TECHNICIAN (Chemistry) (31st December 1972) A SENIOR TECHNICIAN is requlred in the Department of Chemistry to assist in all aspects of the organisation and preparation of teaching materials for use in undergraduate practical classes, to degree level; and in the general technical administra. tion of the Department. Additional duties will include the supervision of the departmental instrument room. In this respect applicants should be familiar with modern methods of instrumental analysis. The appointee will also participate in the instruction of indigenous trainee technicians in both general and specialised Chemistry laboratory techniques as an integral part of the Inservice training scheme. Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum of five years experience of similar work in Tertiary Institutions. Possession of the Australian or British Associateship of the Institute of Science Technology Certificate, a Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
