Appreciation for the assist-* ance given tn Fiji after the hurricane disaster has been expressed in the Fiji Senate by the Leader of Government Business, Senator Ratu Penaia Ganiiau. "I wish publicly to acknowledge with sincere gratitude the generous assistance of governments and numerous people and organisations to victims of the hurricane and flood,” he said. “For this very generous aid, unprecedented in the history of the country, both the people and Government of Fiji are exceedingly grateful, and I am sure we shall not be found wanting as worthy recipients of the aid.” He added that the people of Fiji were still involved in reconstruction work, and this was likely to continue for months in some areas.
