FIJIAN TEACHER THANKS N.Z.

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 8. The head teacher of a Fijian school has written to the New Zealand High Commissioner in Suva (Sir John Grace) thanking New Zealand for help for Hurricane Bebe victims.

Miss Pumima Devi, the head teacher of Tuvu Primary School, Lautoka, said in her letter: “On behalf of the staff and students of Tuvu Primary School in Lautoka, Fiji, I would like to extend my heartiest thanks to:

“Your Meteorological Office in Wellington for the weather reports. If it had not been for the special weather reports issued, many people would have lost their lives. We also congratulate them for

the correctness of their reports. “The help given by the New Zealand Government in supplying the tents to the homeless, helicopter services, volunteers, food and clothing, and cash given to the Prime Minister’s relief fund. “Air New Zealand, for getting all the needy things into Fiji free of charge. “It is really very encouraging to see a small country like New Zealand giving such a great help. We assure you that whenever New Zealand is in need, we will do our best to help you wholeheartedly. “Please convey our thanks to all listed above and those

whom we have missed out who have helped us in any way.

“In the end we would like to say, 'Long live the people of New Zealand’.”
