Question on test talks
fN.Z.P A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS. Dec. 7. The French Defence Minister (Michel Debre) has declined to say whether he will hold talks with Australian and New Zealand leaders on French nuclear tests in the Pacific.
The Minister was questioned at the general assem bly of the Western European [Union, which groups parliamentarians from the six present members of the Common Market and Britain. Mr Debre said that French nuclear tests were justified by the fact that France had to “modernise” its deterrent.
