Charge of murder

(N.Z. Pre«« Association) HAMILTON, Dec. 7. A 35-year-old man was remanded to Tokanui Hospital for observation when he appeared in Hamilton Magistrate’s Court today charged with murder. The man is alleged to have murdered Ronald William Arthur Yorke, aged 51, at Fairfield last night. He was represented by Mr R. D. Evans, who applied for suppression of name and this was ordered later. Mr J. E. Miller, S.M., remanded the man under Section 398 of the Mental Health Act, ordering him to appear again on December 22. Mr Yorke apparently died from gunshot wounds to the head. Police were called to a house about 6 a.m. today.
