Leaflets by C.A.R.E.
In the next few weeks leaflets opposing the proposed Springbok tour of New Zealand next year will be distributed to homes in Christchurch by the Christchurch Citizens' Association for Racial Equality. Three different leaflets have been prepared and will be distributed at various times. The chairman of the Christchurch C.A.R.E. (the Rev. J. Murray) said yesterday that the leaflets were part of his organisation’s programme of public information and education. “We feel that the possibility of the tour’s cancellation is still an open issue and that more people are willing to take it seriously and the moral implications involved in any continuation of New Zealand’s contact with apartheid sport. We believe that many New Zealanders are changing their minds to be against the tour,” he said.
