Man dies in well
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 6. A man died in a 30ft well at an old house in Mount Albert Road, Auckland, on Monday afternoon. He w'as John Mirbach, aged 35, of 92 Eskdale Road, Birkdale.
It is understood that Mr Mirbach was involved in restoration work on Alberta, one of the oldest family homes in Auckland, which is being restored by the Historic Places Trust. An old well had been found and the water pumped out. Mr Mirbach is believed to have collapsed and died as he descended the well on a rope. I
