Mr Kirk at prize-giving

C.V.Z. Press Association! AUCKLAND, Dec. 6. The Prime Minister-elect (Mr Kirk) on Monday evening presented leadership prizes to a group of children at Te Mr Kirk has taken an interest in the Holy Family Youth Centre, at the Te Atatu Roman Catholic Church, since it was founded three years ago, and has presented the prizes each year.

He said that the centre could become a model for others through the country. Mr Kirk announced a gift of $5OO by Mr T. C. Hart, al Labour supporter, for awards to the centre.

“We had a little wager on the election,’’ he said, “and I’m delighted to be able to say that it came out my way. Mr Hart has paid 10 times the amount to the centre.”
