Strong team for track races
Although two of the season’s top cyclists, J. Schriek and A. D. Morris are not available, Canterbury will be represented by a solid team at the triangualr meeting at Invercargill on Saturday.
The team was announced yesterday by the selectors, Messrs B. E. Dawe (convenor), W, W. Thorpe and R. H. Knight, and includes two new representatives. Both novices, they are G. R. Sibley and R. J. Amtman. The team is:— Open.—M. W. Litolff, R. E. Knight, L. M. Vette, P. L. Paviell, R. M. G. A. Heyde, P. A. Jesson, C. J. Tabak and P. T. P. Radbumd. Reserves: A. A. Paviell and J. H. J. Chesmar. Novice.—J. K. Fowler, A. J. Bruce, Sibley, Amtman. Reserve: D. J. Taylor. In the amateur events, the first four named riders will contest sprints, while of the remainder, Heyde and Tabak, and Jesson and Radbumd, Will compete in the double harness pursuits. Paviell, Heyde, Tabak and Radbumd will be one team for the one-mile scratch race; and the other four will compete in another.
