Ulster trade mission

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON, Dec. 6. Northern Ireland will send an export trade mission to Australia, New Zealand, and the Far East early next year, it was announced today. The London office of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce said it would be supported by 19 companies, most of them in the textile industry, manufacturing linen, clothing, hosiery and yams. There would also be representatives from precision-en-gineering firms. The mission will spend from February 12 to March 17 in New Zealand and Australia. Mr David Howell, the Under-Secretary of State in the Northern Ireland Office, told a businessmen’s luncheon in Southampton today that only 12 firms in Ulster had closed because of physical damage in the present troubles.
