All ready for N.Z. troop move

(N.Z.P.A. Stag Correspondent) WASHINGTON, Dec. 6. The remaining New Zealand troops in South Vietnam should be home before Christmas if the diplomatic confidence evident in Washington about the prospects of an early IndoChina cease-fire is not misplaced. While peace talks proceed in Paris and the Labour parties in New Zealand and Australia prepare to implement their election manifestos, allied planning for a cease-fire continues. Washington officials refuse to outline the substance of discussions so far on the withdrawal of the - last New Zealand and Australian units in Vietnam. But it is clear that the timing of the departure of the Anzac training forces had been discussed with the United States. The moment a cease-fire agreement goes into effect plans for their return home will be promptly followed.
