Urban renewal study award
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. A $3500 travel award to study overseas developments in urban renewal will be sponsored by a building firm, Winstones, Ltd, The award will be open to any registered architect who is a member of the Institute of Architects, has been working as a qualified architect for six years, and is over 35. An applicant will be required to submit two drawings of ideas he has for effective urban renewal of an area where he believes such renewal could apply. The winner will study overseas developments in urban renewal and will be required to present a full report on his findings by November next year. The tour will include Europe and the United States.
Entries will be judged by a panel of architects from each of the four main centres, the School of Architecture, and the Ministry of Works.
