Recipient’s condition
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Nov. 7. Dunedin’s first kidney transplant patient is reported to be “doing reasonably well” after surgery on Sunday. The medical superintendent of Dunedin Hospital (Dr K. E. Berendsen) said today that the condition of the patient, the recipient of a kidney from a Christchurch donor, was unchanged. However, in such cases, it was usually a week before the patient’s condition could be fully determined, he added.
