FINE SPRINT WIN
Good Admiral holds on Good Admiral advanced his claims to be one of the favourites for the $ll,OOO Dominion Handicap on Friday when he led throughout the Worthy Queen Handicap yesterday. Good Admiral is raced in partnership by Mr A. H. Carmichael, of Auckland, and J. X. Ferguson. of Akaroa. Mr Carmichael also raced Precocious, winner of the Dominion Handicap 12 months ago and a contender again for Friday’s race. She. too, will be a good chance after her seventh yesterday. Good Admiral trotted comfortably all the way and won by half a neck from Easton Light, which did well after being checked at the furlong post. Bambi, close up all the way. was a nose back third, two lengths and a half in front of Royal Forbes, which lost no friends for his Dominion Handicap engagement. Royal Forbes made a rare mistake for him at the start and was tailed off early. He came home at a great rate. Fri, handy all the way. was a useful fifth, with Merrin making ground after breaking early. Precocious, Marius, and Aronmot were clear of the remainder.
