More time on TV

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 7. The Values Party has been given an additional five min utes on television and 15 minutes on radio for its election campaign, the director-gen-eral of the New Zea lane Broadcasting Corporation (Mi L. R. Sceats) said today. The Values Party' hac qualified for this because it had nominated a significantly larger number of candidates than it had originally tok the N.Z.8.C., he said. It hac expected to put up at leasl 25 candidates and had endec with 42. Mr Sceats said the Values Party’s original allocation was 10 minutes on television and 30 minutes on radio. II was the only party in the new and minor group tc qualify for more time. The N.Z.B.C.’s confirmee allocations for new parties are: New Democrats, 30 minutes on television, 90 min utes on radio; Values Party 15 minutes on television, 41 minutes on radio; Liberal Reform, 10 minutes on television, 30 minutes on radio The Ministry of Works expects to work until the end of this week to clear a slip which has blocked State Highway 7 at Omoto, near Greymouth. The main railway line was also blocked, but has been reopened. The slip is still moving, and the road has been twice opened and dosed again.
