Results of the Ellesmere Cricket Sub-association’s senior matches on Saturday were:— Irwell 132/2 declared and 73/0 (B. Taylor 55 not out) beat Burnham 124 and 71 (J. Lay 5/22, M. Guthrie 3/36>. Weedons 143/6 declared and 53/3 (T. Williams 31 not out) beat Leeston 89 and 206 (R. Wylie 49. B. Boon 45; P. Chatterton 6/36). Lincoln 204 beat Tat Tapu 174 iR. Lanunze 42. W. Dean 54; M. Page 5/45). Southbrtdge 170 and 68/6 lost to Dunsandel 224 (A. Scott 52. J. de Ruiter 67, M. Frampton 32: C. Heslop 3/36). Ellesmere’s junior cricketers scored an easy win over their Burundi rivals on Saturday. Details:— Ellesmere juniors 165 (T. Barclay 40; C. Crossley 3/40, B, Pwose 3/24) and 27/1 beat Hurunui 89 (K Taylor 4/22) and 88 (Taylor 4/15, C. Heslop 3/13).
