Show Gate’s mission
Show Gate, impressive winner of the Spring Plate on New Zealand Cup day, was scratched yesterday from the Apprentices’ Handicap at Riccarton on Wednesday. Her mission will be the Stonyhurst Handicap, nine furlongs. Unless she runs disappointingly tomorrow Show Gate will run in the New Zealand Oaks on Satur-’ day and might be capable of ’ matching the best of her North Island rivals. From four starts she has had three wins and a fourth.
